Why is it that it takes fives days to catch up after being gone for four days ?   Here it is Thursday, and I was supposed to post the winners of my Mother's Day giveaways on Monday.   Seems like I blinked and missed almost all of the week!  I'm so sorry.  Keep reading and I'll announce the winners at the end of this post.

Last week, I attended the Evangelical Press Association's annual conference. This organization is for anyone who publishes Christian content.  So I rubbed shoulders with people who ran newspapers, magazines, website and newsletters - all to glorify Christ.  What an amazing group of people.

I attended the business track, which featured workshops by Lou Ann Sabatier, who is one of the nation's premier consultant for publishers and content creators.  I've never been referred to as a "content creator" but I guess that's what I am.

She focused on trends, which are very important to know if you want to stay relevant.  I thought I'd share a few of those trends with you.  They might be helpful if you are a content creator yourself.

The future is going mobile
Email is out for anyone under 30
Devouring media is out - "info snacking" is in
People are accessing the Internet to search for information versus reading
55 years and older are the fastest growing group on Facebook
The opinion of peers is sought more than the opinion of experts
Websites will be a pass-through for mobile
75% of online population is engaged in a social network
Simple is better.  Can a viewer get to anywhere on your website with one click?
The world is going local

If you love media trends, then I invite you to view this video.  If you are passionate about reaching people for Christ, I hope this gets you inspired.

I realize this is too big for my site. Since I can't figure out how to change it, click here to view it on You Tube:

Now to the winners, chosen completely at random:

Tuesday's winner of my book, "When Your Child is Hurting":    Monica
Wed. winner of a decorative mouse pad:   Shelia
Thur. winner of a Starbucks card:  Kim
Fri. winner of a key holder & book:  Alicia

Please email me privately at editor@proverbs31.org with your mailing address and I'll get those gifts in the mail.

In His Love,
Glynnis
