In the middle of my plan to share home-based business tips, my publisher sent me the galley for my next book, a request for all my interviewees to complete a release form by a certain date, and a request for a list of possible endorsers. So needless to say, that has consumed me for a few weeks. I sent the galley off on Monday, with a prayer that I didn't miss anything. Of course, I'm sure I did, which is a nagging worry.

Have you ever read a book and wondered how in the world a mistake got overlooked? It's because even in our advanced technological society, editors miss things. At Proverbs 31, we have a team of about 10 proofreaders for our magazine. In every issue - without fail - each one finds something everyone else missed. This past issue, an author referred to a rearview mirror. Only she wrote, "review mirror." Do you know that only 1 of 10 proofreaders caught that - and it wasn't me. I've given up on my desire to be the perfect proofreader or editor. That's just another reason why we need each other.

In case you'd like to preview the cover of my next book, here it is.
It is scheduled for release August 1, 2009 - a full two years after they accepted it. Many writers feel that writing a book is like a pregnancy. Where there is so much happening that no one sees, then all of a sudden the "baby" is "born." Talk about a long pregnancy!
My next project with the book is planning how to help market it.
So, that's what's been keeping me busy these past two weeks. I'll be back next week to start up on my home-based business tips. Just this week, Dave Ramsey was on Good Morning America and said small businesses are the way out of this recession. I believe it. We need creative people stepping out in faith.
Hopefully my tips will help some of you get started.
In His Love,
Glynnis

Hey Glynnis. From one editor to another, I say "amen" to that.

(And, "Help me, Jesus!")

I know this book is going to help a lot of mothers and children out there. I pray God helps you market it well so it can reach every one who needs it.

Happy Valentines, my friend

I like Dave Ramsey's thinking, Glynnis, and I agree with him. Praise God for your new book, and best wishes for an anointed marketing plan that propels your book into hands that need it!

As I count down the the next 10 days of editing/polishing a book proposal prior to attending a writer's conference, I can't help but wonder if I'll catch all the errors. And if perchance my book is accepted, I hope I have it in mean to be pregnant for 2 years!

LOL

Hi Glynnis
I live in the Phoenix metro area. We've communicated over email a couple of times. I met you at the Christian Women's Biz Expo a 2 years ago. Anyway... the reason I'm posting this is to ask if you are planning on using social media to help market this book. I'm learning about this as I've launched my own business. I would love to help you get the word out regarding this book. Please, email me at eabless2002@yahoo.com to let me know how I can help.

Hi Glynnis...your book looks really interesting. I have enjoyed your suggestions and sharing on how to start a small business. Have you thought of doing something similar regarding getting a book published? Obviously, it is quite a process...and can seem overwhelming! It would be nice to know where to even begin (once you have the desire, I suppose.)

God bless as your new book goes to print!

Glynnis,
Hooray! You are one step away from seeing your baby in print. I can't imagine how excited you must be!!!

Are you going to do a blog tour for your book? I'd love to feature it on my blog.

Thanks for being such a light and inspiration for us new writers. I am so thankful our paths crossed this year.

(BTW...Hmmm, I'm wondering if I was the 1 out of 10.)

Blessings,
Kelli
